The service will provide access in public areas of the 296 bed San Diego facility including outpatient clinic areas, inpatient wards, Canteen, community living centers, chronic care wards, and the VHA library. Making Internet access readily available is one of the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs Patient and Family Centered Care Initiatives designed to create a positive, holistic experience for both patients and their families.
RESOLUTE will design and engineer the system to work within the unique VA medical environment, co-exist with medical infrastructure and support future expansion. RESOLUTE is trained to pay special attention to infectious disease control policies and other procedures unique to the hospital environment to limit risks during the installation process. RESOLUTE Partners will work closely with the medical staff to minimize any disruption or impact on staff activities and patient care. Once operational, RESOLUTE Partners will monitor the health of the network and provide all necessary ongoing service and support to keep the network up and running.

The network is scheduled to be completed and operational this February.
